It was interesting looking at the different levels of questions(EQ,UQ,CQ)and how they lead one to the other. It reminds me of the reverse pyramid in Journalism.
This time also allowed me to fill out more of the Unit Plan properly, correcting mistakes or inadequacies as we went.
The CFQ's really help to focus the instruction and lead the students, as well as the instructor, down the correct path.
I have gone through a new teacher training program and had us use essential, unit, and content questions. This is the best description of these I've seen. Thank you!
It's far easier to create questions for your own content area (or at least areas of personal interest) than practicing with other areas! :)

Sometimes--if it's hard to come up with an Essential Question--it helps to work on the content questions and work up.
I like the idea of having an EQ to post in my classroom. This will help focus my instruction and direct the students toward a goal. This would also make my principal happy when he visits my classroom.

Having a hierarchy of questioning will help guide my students into deeper thinking and real world applications.
Agreed - I went through the same training, and in the 4 hours this morning have gained more knowledge and insight into these than the entire training...
Framing questions makes my head hurt. I have to really think about the question. I guess this is what is meant by higher order thinking.
I've got a bigger understanding of Curriculum based questions by posting them and having feed back.
I really like the challenge of looking more critically at the question. I always keep BLOOMS in my mind, but this takes more thought.
This module made me think harder about my questioning.
It has also made me think about how my students are thinking, and how they perceive the question I have asked.

assessment - supported my assessment practices - like the timeline idea, I like that so many POs can be encorporated in authentic assessment
Visual ranking

I like it. It'll work great for Anthro.

I want to spend more time thinking about how to use it in Anthro.
Practiced and brainstormed ranking.
I like the chart in the book on assessments. I realized I need to do more assessments, more often. The ranking tool is GREAT! I can see so many uses for it, and students love to rank things. Good day 2!!!
Modules 3,4 &5. Assessment, CFQ's, Visual ranking tool.
They rock!
A week off!
utilizing the visual ranking tool.

really enjoyed giving each other advice for our essential questions.

looking forward to utilizing this stuff next year.
Much better understanding of questioning. Will be able to apply those questions better in my future lessons. I also will now change my visual ranking tool that I created earlier :)
We learned how to both set up, properly use, and executre a lesson using the Visual Ranking tool.

I'm excited to use this with my students. It is a different, creative way to get my students to talk to one another, debate, and think critically on a number of topics.

Now I have to add this knowledge to what I'm going to be taught in June so I can fully integrate technology into Read 180 and my classroom.

This rocks!
